Amass
Amass was a shocker. None of us had imagined a restaurant this hip and fantastic lying on Refshaleøen. You need to pass through the hippie neighborhood Christiania and drive a couple of kilometers on a rather deserted road before you reach a large warehouse in the old B&W yard halls. It looks nothing like a restaurant from the outside. The chef is Matt Orlando, prior head chef on the prominent 2-starred Michelin restaurant Noma. He still knows how to please his guests, although it’s in new settings. They serve a 3 or 5 course menu, where nothing is left to chance. The décor is stylish but loose, but the dinner is sharp and amazing. The only negative thing I have to comment on, is the selection of wines. They do like organic and biodynamic wines. I’m in general not a big fan of these. I like the idea of it but unfortunately not the taste. But after some goes, we hit a wine I liked, so no big deal. We had a great lunch. We will absolutely come again, but for dinner next time. Then we’ll take the harbor ferry, which stops just outside the restaurant.
