Il Grappolo Blu
I have never tried this good Italian food and such an amazing service. The food, the wine, the friendly service, the atmosphere and the food made especially for me because of my lactose intolerance….everything was just perfect. You don’t come here with an expectation of an innovative kitchen and fancy collations. You come here to taste the best Italy can bring. Do you yourself a favor and try the whole lot. The antipasti, the risotto, a couple of main courses and a couple of desserts – and of course wine pairing too. Il Grappolo Blu is the expert in Brunello. I was not disappointed of their choice of wines. On the contrary. They caught me by surprise by serving from the finest producers and the best vintages. They weren’t exactly petty when filling up the glasses nor serving the dishes like an Italian mama. But it was all delicate, and I can’t think of anything I missed. If you want to experience this, but maybe scale it down a notch, you can try their Osteria, which is located right next door. The Osteria is not as pricy as this restaurant. They have spared the most expensive ingredients in the Osteria. But it is still very good. If money is not an option Il Grappolp Blu is a must for somebody who loves Italian food. You don’t get it any better. I love the décor too. They have kept the old-fashioned look. Brown high panels, and a trip down memory lane with an exhibition of old bottles of some of the best wines over time all over the restaurant. There are not many tables, so you need to book ahead.
