This is by far the best restaurant on Østerbro. I have been here many times. In the weekends it’s French cuisine when it’s best. In the weekdays it’s well made French bistro dishes – they call this “Magelig Mandag” og “Magelig Tirsdag” – translated into Leisurely Monday and Tursday. The point is to cut down on the service. Basically that means you just have to cut your own bread and pick up the desert or cheese yourself. However they don’t compromise on the quality. They do both themes so well. They have an impressive wine card. The service is outstanding and the food is amazing. The décor is stylish and simple. They have a small private lounge for avecs after dinner. It’s cozy ad a rarity in such fine restaurants. I love this place. My guess is, that the only reason why No 1 has no Michelin star is, that it’s located on Østerbro in a quiet area. There is nothing hip about this neighborhood. But there is a great cocktail bar just across the street. This is a “must try”.
